Renewing our Approach with Renewable Energy at the Isa Hotel

Renewing our Approach with Renewable Energy at the Isa Hotel

Renewable energy sources are all around us, from solar radiation to wind energy and believe it or not, wave energy! In contrast to fossil fuels, renewable energy is infinite and therefore better for the environment and the sustainability of our planet.

As one of the most well-known renewable energy sources, we have taken the leap to transition over to solar power with the goal to lessen our impact on this beautiful planet we call home. Itis said that ‘every hour the Sun beams more energy onto Earth than it needs to satisfy global energy needs for an entire year’ (National Geographic). Having recently installed a combined total of 684 Canadian Solar rooftop panels across Isa Hotel, Redearth Boutique Hotel and Liquor Warehouse, we now have the capacity to generate approximately 273 600 watts of solar electricity to contribute to powering our two hotels and adjoining retail bottle shops.

A PV (photovoltaic) system, or solar power system, produces energy by using solar cells made of semiconductor materials to convert sunlight into electricity. Solar panels remove the harmful greenhouse gas emissions that are produced by other forms of electricity production, meaning they are an incredibly clean form of power.

Following Maraboon Tavern’s switch to solar, Isa Hotel and Redearth Boutique Hotels quickly followed suit with their roll out of the renewable energy system. The implementation of solar power will continue to take place across the group over the coming months, contributing to Waymark Group’s vision of creating a greener future for Australia.

At Waymark Hotels, we work hard to enrich the vibrant regional communities that we call home. That is why all our solar panel installation projects were completed by local suppliers, helping us bring prosperity to the community.
